In the blink of an eye, everything changed for my cousins, Marsa’s family. On Monday Sept 1st a devastating fire tore through their home, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In that moment, all the little things that made their house a home — family photos, keepsakes, and the memories held within those walls — were gone.

The most important thing is that everyone made it out safely, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Now they face the heartbreaking reality of starting over from scratch. There are six of them in the home, and they have lost not only their belongings, but also their sense of stability, comfort, and safety.

This family is strong, but no one should have to go through this alone. They need our community now more than ever — to lift them up, to give them hope, and to remind them that even in the darkest times, they are not alone.

Marsa has always been the kind of person who shows up for others — whether it’s lending a hand, offering words of encouragement, or putting others’ needs ahead of their own. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Every dollar raised will go directly towards helping them find temporary housing, replace daily necessities like clothing and food, and begin the long road of rebuilding their lives.
