My name is Alicia Sawyer Cooke and I lived in Marsh Harbour Abaco, Bahamas. On September 1st our island of Abaco was completely destroyed and devastated by the beast of a hurricane Dorian. My in-laws Charles and Angela Cooke were in their home when the roof collapsed on her. Charles called and called and could not hear her screaming for help. He then told his beloved German Shepherd to “go find Mommy” still not knowing if she was even alive. Princess dug at the rubble and found a hole which led to Angela. Charles still could not locate her so Princess laid on her for 17 hours (preventing hypothermia) until neighbors arrived at daylight to help find and free her. We were able to arrange to get her evacuated by helicopter on September 4th. She suffered a broken hip and multiple bruises and contusions about the head and body. Any help will be greatly appreciated to help rebuild their life. The story was covered by Jonathan Petramala Storyteller of accuweather. If you wish to see this is the link.
