Family of Janet Abrams-Duarte and Darin Duarte

Hello, my name is Kristen Beebee. I am the daughter in law to Janet Abrams- Duarte and her husband Darin Duarte who lost their home to a devastating house fire late in the evening of Tuesday April 18th. I, along with her son Alex Beebee, her daughter Danielle and Steve Britton, and her daughter Casey are starting this Go Fund me page as an effort to help rebuild their life from the ground up.
The night of the fire, Janet arrived home late in the evening after running errands related to the care of her beloved farm and animals to find smoke seeping through her living room window. After opening the front door, the thick black smoke had overtaken the house making an attempt to pinpoint the source of the smoke nearly impossible. Janet frantically did everything she could to call her three dogs Precious, Sammy, and Dean that were still in the home risking her own safety to do so. After a few moments, she had to exit and for her own safety and watch her home of 33 years burn with her beloved 3 fur babies still inside. The home she raised her 3 children, and on her oldest daughter Danielle's birthday to make matters worse.
Janet suffered carbon monoxide poisoning from her attempt of rescuing her animals and was taken via ambulance to the emergency room for treatment and observation. Thankfully, Darin nor anyone else was inside the house and for that we are incredibly grateful. Precious, Sammy, and Dean unfortunately were and they did not survive.
After the fire trucks arrived on scene, the house was already fully engulfed in flames. After hours of battling the blaze the realization of the insurmountable loss had hit our family. Janets entire life was in that house. Beginning with photos and irreplaceable memorabilia from her parents and grandparents all the way down to her own grandchildren.
This brings us to the reason why we have decided to create this page. Janet does have medical insurance to help her cover the cost for her ride in the ambulance and night in the ER. However, Janet and Darin do not have insurance on their home. It was a complete loss to their home. If there's any silver lining to this ordeal, it would be that the fire did not spread to the barn or farm animals (all of which are fine).
Janet and Darin are always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and would take the shirts off their own back if someone needed it. They are only a call away from dropping whatever task they are doing to help anyone that asks, never asking for anything in return. Now is our chance to help them. It will be a long and difficult process to rebuild what was lost and if you are able, any contribution to our efforts to rebuild the home of Janet and Darin would be greatly appreciated. All donations will be used directly to aid in cleanup, construction cost, animal feed and medicinal needs, and keeping the farm afloat through this devastating loss. Please share this page to spread as far as we can.
