On December 7, 2016 my father Ronald Cabral took his final breath at his residence after an endless battle with cancer (prostate and colon), stroke, and dimentia. For the last year of his life he was in assisted liviing, and his wishes were always to return home. During the later stages of his life, he was placed in hospice care where his wishes were granted, and he was able to return home and be with his wife again. My father, a retired veteran, 20 years with the United States Air Force, was a devoted and loving husband/father, and always did everything he could to provide for our family. Stubborn as ever, ne never accepted failure and strived to always achieve goals and whatever he set his mind to. My mother and I were at his side at the time of his passing and did not want to let go, no matter how hard it was to accept. Even though my mother is a tough woman, I could tell how devistated she was. She just lost her best friend and soulmate. They met later in life, after he retired from the military at a college in California. 41 years of marrage later she was by his side till the very end, I am creating this on behalf of my mother, who did everything she could to provide for my fathers medical expenses. Even though the VA covered some, she still did everything she could to ensure he got the care he needed. After his passing, the benefits she recieved on his behalf almost disappeared. She is still fighting to pay off debt and has even stated she will go back to work full time...she is 75, diabetic and can barly move due to arthritis. I will do anything I can for my mom and hoping this helps get her closer to being out of her debt. Thank you and God Bless.
