After the Flames: Help Jessy, Amanda & Their Children Rebuild Their Lives

On what should have been just another ordinary day, Jessy, Amanda, and their three young children faced a nightmare no family should ever have to endure. A devastating fire tore through their home, leaving nothing but ashes and heartbreak behind. In mere moments, their safe haven — filled with love, laughter, memories, and everything they owned — was gone.

As if that loss weren’t enough, the fire also destroyed their neighbor’s home, compounding the tragedy for this small, close-knit community.

This family has been through so much already.

Just a little over year ago, Amanda suffered a heart attack — a life-altering event she has been courageously recovering from. Prior to the fire, Jessy sustained long-term injuries in a workplace accident and is continuing ongoing rehab and physiotherapy. He has been unable to return to work, and with their home gone, they face overwhelming hardship without stable income or shelter.

They are bunking in with Amanda, mother for now.

Jessy and Amanda are now working through the insurance process. Although they do have coverage, it is very limited, and the support has been delayed — leaving them with urgent needs that aren’t being met in the meantime.

They are doing everything they can to stay strong for their children, who are trying to cope with the trauma and sudden loss of the only home they’ve ever known.
