Family of 11 about to be homeless...

We desperately need someone's help… My name is Krista and we are pleading for someone’s help. Our landlord sold the duplex we have been living in for the last 6 years. They closed on the sale middle of January. We paid the new landlord February rent and then on the 24th of February The new landlord served us a 28-day notice to Vacate. We have done nothing wrong and have always paid our rent and water bills. 28 days is no time when it comes to packing up stuff for 11 people... It's my mother, myself, my husband, and our 8 children ranging in age from 1 to 15.

 

There is nothing available in our price range and In a matter of a few weeks, we could potentially be homeless. I have been looking for something to rent But have been unsuccessful with finding a place. Everything is out of our price range, or they want someone with exceptional credit and no evictions which I have from 2016. 

 

We have tried to ask the landlord for more time which he denied at first then at the last second the last two months in a row has given us a extention. The final extention was offered and we have to be forsure out by May, 31st. At this time we still have not found anything. Today it is May, 4th. 

 

I am at a loss for words. I feel like a failure as a parent because I'm about to be homeless with my 8 children. I have no one to turn to. The only family support is my mother and she is in the same boat as us. This was the house she was renting. My husband's parents are really able to financially help in any sort of way. My father sadly passed away in 2019. Between packing and looking for a place to live and managing the day-to-day life of 8 children… I am one tired mama. I have contacted resource after resource after resource to come up with no positive outcomes. I truly fear that in a few weeks time my family will be homeless. If you are a landlord and willing to rent to us please contact us.

 

Thank you so much for considering us and reading our story and I truly hope you can find it in your heart to in some way help and save a family going through an extreme hardship. I don't like asking for help but in this situation I'm hopeless and I need all the help I can get.

Go fund me was set up to help with the costs of renting hotel room's until we find something more permanent should that arise. If we find something in the mean time the funds will go to first month's rent and security deposit.
