My name is Mitchell McHenry and I’m fundraising for my sister Kaitlin McHenry and her partner Luis Guzman and family. My sister lived in Berwick with her partner and his extended family who were temporarily staying with them. My sister recently gave birth to her premature son who was in the NICU for a little over three weeks. Upon returning two weeks later he became sick and went into respiratory failure. Finally, when my sisters family thought everything was over and the baby got to come home and was healthy….. At a little before 11:30 AM yesterday morning (March 30th, 2023) my sisters partner was feeding their baby who had just came in from working outside. Suddenly, they noticed smoke was pouring from the outlet in their bedroom. Then Luis Guzman’s Nephew Enmanuel started screaming for his uncle Luis stating that their house was being engulfed in fire. My sister Kaitlin ran out of the house in her nightgown with her baby wrapped in her arms while she was barefoot. Enmanuel and Luis exhausted two fire extinguishers unfortunately, the fire kept blazing. They then tried to use the garden hose, the fire still wouldn’t budge. They sat and watched their home and memories go up in smoke and flames. Firefighters arrived and knocked down flames trying to salvage what they could. Ultimately my sisters home is uninhabitable.
