Hi, my name is Christina. I am fundraising to help friends and family who have lost so much from typhoon Rai. My family has endured a lot in these recent times, as so many people have in the last few years. Typhoon Rai came through and devastated my father’s and step mother’s home. His retirement was in this home. Homes have been not only destroyed, but people we know and love are still missing. Any funds raised here will go to the rebuilding of these homes and aiding those in need.
Many people in this area live in poverty. Their economy was crippled by COVID, now so many have had their homes damaged or destroyed.
The photos and video posted is from my father and step-mother’s home in the Philippines, along with their friends and neighbors. This is what he wrote to us in a message:
“Major damage to the house. To start with a coco tree or something crashed through the living room sliding door with the ocean surge destroying everything in the lower floor like furniture, stereo and tv stuff, refrigerator may or may not work, etc. up stairs windows blew out but no reports on that.
A jetty on the left is GONE separating us from the bamboo hotel which is completely gone. Something big destroyed the roll up garage door. Boathouse and pumpboat totaled into kindling, small boat gone.
Jr’s house heavily damaged and don’t know the new hotel next door besides the swimming pool failed.
