A few days before Christmas this last year I was in a horrible car accident, hit head-on by a much bigger vehicle at 35 mph. I was the front passenger, and my head hit the windshield before the airbag deployed, cracking the window. I braced when I saw the car coming, which caused my pelvis to break in multiple places and 4 ribs to break. I spent the next 2 weeks in the hospital, originally at St. Francis, then transferred to Harborview due to the severity of my injuries. I had traction installed in my femur (a 15 lb weight put through my leg to help stabilize my hip), and on Christmas Eve, I went through an 10-hour surgery to put my pelvis back together. My doctor later told me my injuries were more severe than the X-rays showed, that my pelvis had fully cracked in half, in addition to multiple pieces, and it took a lot longer to put me back together than they had planned. He told me it was one of the worst pelvic fractures he had seen. I've spent the last several months learning to walk again, trying to heal both physically and emotionally, and it hasn't been easy. I am the breadwinner for my family, and I can't work. My original injury led to secondary injuries in my knees, causing my patellas to be loose due to muscle atrophy and ultimately delaying my healing.

Because of our decreased finances and our complex not fixing things, which has delayed my healing even more, we have decided to move. We have to move by the end of the month and we are struggling to generate the funds necessary to secure housing moving forward.

Please consider helping our family. We are raising 3 kids, all boys, ages 13, 11, and 6. They have needs I've always put first, and right now, securing housing is the biggest need we all have. We have a plan, we have things in place, we just need some help making those happen.

The funds will be used solely to secure our housing.
