Family Needs Help After Losing Home
Donation protected
A few months ago, our landlord passed away, and his family decided to take back the property.
We had been in this house for 12 years and even rebuilt it after a fire.
We had to be out by June 30th, and I thought we had a couple of options, but they blew up right before the weekend we needed to be out.
We quickly exhausted our funds in Fourth of July-priced motel rooms.
I am a physically disabled small business owner and tried promoting products and services in lieu of fundraising, but it's not enough on Cape in the summer.
Emergency shelter denied me because it wasn't an eviction; it was a judgment.
That counts for 30 days.
I also have 2 autistic sons who love their dogs very much and are already regressing in this situation.
My other half has a brain injury and is reliant on one of the dogs to calm him down.
I was obviously not prepared for this, and starting my business trashed my credit. I built my business around my disability, and I'm very proud of how well it's doing so far, but it's no six-figure earner yet.
We just need a break, and hopefully a home , but mostly we need to not be in a tent in the place we grew up in or torn away from the animals that regulate my boys.
