Family (Minky) looses house to natural disaster!
I am attempting to raise money for my friend Shirley (Minky) Moore. Do you remember when you were little, and your mom use to make you stand up against the wall and then she would mark how much you had grown since the last time she measured? Can you perhaps remember the house that built you, the one you grew up in? What if you were lucky enough to still live in that house, how many memories would it hold? How would you feel then if a tree fell on that very home and rendered it a complete loss, leaving you homeless, displaced, and downright sad!
That’s what happened to a friend to my friend Minky and we need your help! Let me give you a bit of a background on this house. The “little blue house” as my friend’s mom, Charli, dubbed it became a haven for a single mother and her two small children, they were fleeing from an abusive situation in 1988. There she raised two productive children. The house was starting to show its age and need repair so four years ago Charli, Minky, and Samantha took on a labor of love and started remodeling and refreshing the house. That’s three generation of women who could paint, replace doors, do plumbing, replace tubs, toilet’s etc. For the last 4 years you could find them every weekend doing something on the house. They were almost finished and anyone who looked would have been proud of these women. Just when it was almost completed tragedy struck! It was bad, really bad!
This is where I hope you will find it in your heart to help. I have created this account to raise money for a used mobile home and to have the funds available to have it moved. I know we are in times of troubles and its tough on everyone however I believe if we all give a little, we can accomplish this goal and give this family a different outcome. Do you have it in your heart and your wallet to help a little? Please don’t feel like what you can give isn’t worth doing, it is worth doing and together our little bits can add up to a solution. If you can not give to the cause, I beg that you share this on Facebook with your friends and family, it doesn’t cost anything except a little time to do that.
I will close with a bit of good news. The one thing that survived the tree and was salvaged was the wall that long ago had been the recording wall for the growth of the children. Inch by inch they became adults and inch by inch if we all pull together, we can help this tragedy sting just a little less. Thank you in advance for your time, consideration, money, and care.
