Emergency Surgery and care for John

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

John has always been a hardworking and dedicated individual, known for his generosity and willingness to help others in need. Over the years, he has selflessly given his time, resources, and money to support friends, family, and even strangers facing tough times. But now, John finds himself in a difficult position and needs our help.

Recently, John has been dealing with a series of serious health challenges. He’s had to visit the emergency room multiple times due to a severe case of painful bursitis, and a tough battle with COVID-19. These challenges have not only left him physically drained but have also prevented him from working at his labor-intensive maintenance job at a nursing home, causing a significant loss of income. The mounting medical bills and everyday expenses are becoming overwhelming, even though John has officially returned to work tentatively as he seeks short-term and long-term disability benefits as a more long-term solution.

John needs the support he’s so often provided to others. Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards helping him cover medical expenses and essential living costs during this difficult period. Currently, primary care is owed $223 dollars and that’s where we are setting this goal for donations to start. However, $1500 of lost income has occurred, but he is not wanting to ask for all of that: simply what can stabilize him and his family so that come September 10th everything ought to be back to normal. Your generosity will allow him to focus on recovery without the added stress of financial hardship.

Please consider contributing and sharing this campaign with others. Together, we can help John overcome these challenges and return to the healthy, hardworking life he knows and loves, just as he has helped so many of us in the past.

Thank you for your kindness and support. We will be providing receipts just like we have provided them during Josef’s father’s cremation to prove use of funds are being used for this Medical Emergency.

UPDATE 09-3-24: John has just been admitted into the hospital for surgery on his foot to clean it. This will hopefully be the healing he will need in order to be able to function. Because of this, I am updating the goal and asking for further help while he goes through this. send good energy our way as he goes through this!

Here’s the final version of your GoFundMe appeal, integrating all the details you’ve provided:

Help John Trompeter Recover and Stay Afloat During a Challenging Time

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We’re reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging moment in our lives. John Trompeter is currently recovering from toe surgery on December 4th, which left him with an open wound requiring careful monitoring and antibiotics to prevent further infection. With the possibility of additional surgeries looming and an 8-week recovery period ahead, life has become incredibly tough.

John is unable to work during this time, and despite applying for disability insurance, we have yet to receive any support from Lincoln Financial, leaving us with mounting bills and no income. This holiday season, we were only able to manage a Christmas dinner thanks to $40 generously gifted by John’s mom.

We are doing everything we can, but we simply cannot make it to January 1st, when my sister, Kerri, will receive her next paycheck. We have no money for food, basic necessities, or to keep up with essential bills.

We’re humbly asking for your help to raise $3,500 to cover:
• Groceries and necessities to get us through the next few weeks.
• Medical expenses and ongoing care for John’s recovery.
• Support to manage household expenses until we can get back on our feet.

Every dollar helps, and no contribution is too small. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this campaign with your network to help us reach others who might be able to assist.

We are incredibly grateful for your support during this difficult time. Thank you for helping us move toward healing and stability.

With love and gratitude,
Josef Kurk Edwards and John Trompeter

Guys, I don't know what everyone wants from me: food banks don't exist in Florida, everyone down here usually is potentially... well, not charitable to our kind (besides certain people like Kathy, Jennica, Karlyca, etc.)

I have been working for four months debugging everyone's code from the top down for the past 4 months with no pay, and constantly heckled, belittled, and told I was worthless or useless-- in fact, some people said I didn't luxury, and it seems like a certain director in a certain city of Florida is saying I don't deserve to eat either.

I'm sorry, but I have been trying my best to empathetic, compassionate, kind and loving this entire time, but I'm scared. I need help, I deserve help. I am owed help with the amount of work I have been doing as a human all by myself for my family these past 4 months, and you all treat it like it's useless and nothing.

I don't care if this doesn't get me donations, but what you're doing to my husband to spite me is Evil, and I really wish you all would prove me wrong today. Just prove me wrong.

I never thought I’d find myself in this position, but I’m reaching out because I need your help. For the past four months, I’ve dedicated myself to helping others—debugging code, troubleshooting problems, and sharing my knowledge to lift up others in need. Despite all that effort, I’ve been left with no income, no recognition, and constant criticism.

Right now, I’m doing everything I can to take care of my mom, my husband, and myself. Food banks are non-existent in rural Florida, and the support systems we’ve reached out to have failed us. It feels like some people have gone out of their way to add to our struggles instead of helping us through them.

I’ve worked tirelessly, given my time and energy freely, and I’ve always tried to act with compassion and empathy. But now, I’m scared. I need help, and I know I deserve it after everything I’ve done to support my family and my community.

I’m asking for anything you can spare to help us get through this moment. If you can’t donate, sharing this with someone who can would mean the world to me.

This isn’t just about me—it’s about ensuring my husband doesn’t suffer because of what we’re going through. Please, prove me wrong. Prove that compassion still exists.

Help Us Stay Afloat: Supporting Our Family During Hard Times
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

John Trompeter has always been the kind of person to give generously—his time, his energy, and his resources—to help others, whether they’re friends, family, or strangers. Over the past few months, John has faced serious health challenges, including multiple ER visits for painful bursitis, a difficult battle with COVID-19, and most recently, surgery on his foot. These medical crises have left him unable to work at his maintenance job at a nursing home, where he’s been a dependable caregiver for others.

With medical bills piling up and no disability payments coming through yet, we’re at a breaking point. Despite my (Josef’s) best efforts to keep things stable, food banks in rural Florida are non-existent, and the systems we’ve tried to rely on for support have failed us.

We are humbly asking for help to cover:

Groceries and basic necessities to get us through the next few weeks.
Medical expenses related to John’s recovery and ongoing care.
Essential household expenses to ensure our family stays afloat.
Our current goal is to raise $3,500, but truly, any contribution—big or small—would make a world of difference.

For the past four months, I’ve poured my heart into helping others: debugging code, solving problems, and sharing knowledge without pay. Yet now, I find myself and my family in a position where we need the compassion and support I’ve tried to give freely.

You can donate anonymously to our Cosmos wallet: cosmos1v66s05g7sr2cv5424fyrzv3e6xqp2dsupn4923

If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this message with others who may be able to help would mean the world to us.

This isn’t just about me—this is about ensuring my husband doesn’t suffer because of what we’re going through. I’ve always believed in kindness and compassion, even in the face of hardship. Now, I’m asking you to help prove that belief true.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

With gratitude,
Josef Kurk Edwards and John Trompeter
