Family losing home to toxic mold-Help them recover!

My daughter Brooke and her family live in eastern Nebraska, and they are facing the heartbreaking reality of losing their home and nearly all of their belongings due to widespread toxic mold contamination.

Few people truly understand the seriousness of mold illness and the devastation it can cause. Brooke has spent months researching, consulting mold specialists, and working with a functional medicine practitioner to understand her family’s ongoing health struggles. Sadly, the only safe option left is to leave their home and belongings behind.

Both of her children have mold toxicity confirmed through lab work. Her daughter, age 6, has been battling unexplained hair loss and low immune function. Her son, age 3, suffers from chronic eczema, skin infections, and immune issues. Brooke herself has experienced neurological symptoms, including dizziness and numbness/tingling in her extremities—all of which can be linked to toxic mold and mycotoxin exposure.

In December 2023, mold was discovered behind their kitchen walls. They completed professional remediation of the affected area and believed the problem was resolved. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, symptoms worsened. Determined to find answers, they conducted whole-house testing, which revealed extremely high levels of dangerous molds—including Stachybotrys, Chaetomium, and Fusarium—on every level of their home.

These molds produce mycotoxins which are carcinogenic, neurotoxic, and immunosuppressive. They are microscopic, airborne, and infiltrate everything—from walls and floors to clothing, bedding, furniture, and toys.

This is a catastrophic loss for their family. Remediation of the entire home is not only extremely costly but also cannot guarantee complete safety, leaving them no choice but to walk away. To make matters worse, insurance will not cover mold damage or the loss of their possessions.

The most important thing now is keeping Brooke, her husband, and their two young children safe and healthy as they start over.

If you feel led to give, your donation will go directly toward housing, replacing essentials (clothing, furniture, kitchen items, children’s toys, etc.), medical treatment to detox and heal from mold exposure, and supporting their transition into a safe living environment.

Most of all, we ask for your prayers as Brooke and her family navigate this devastating season. With faith, community, and God’s provision, we trust they will rebuild and heal from this unimaginable loss.
