Family Left Homeless After Daughter's Open Heart Surgeries

Donation protected
My family has been displaced due to medical crisis and are in dire need of a home after moving 17 hours away from my life i had built; My own home, I had a partner, son, 2 cats and daughter on the way. Devestatingly my partner abandoned us in Oklahoma when I was 8.5 months pregnant, 1 week before we were due to relocate across the country. I had to pack up the entire place on my own, while watching my son who turned 1 that same week, and drove us across the country and travelled between WV & OH to attend appts until we got settled in the Ronald Mcdonald House April 19th. Shortly after on May 8th I had a C section and brought my Heart Warrior into the world. We throught she would be a fairly straightforward case, but once they completed her testing her prognosis was grim; with a 10% chance of survival is what the doctors told me when I started this journey. They told me the compassionate thing would be to take her home and let her enjoy being a baby and let her pass naturally. I was gutted, I felt like we hadn't even had a chance to fight yet. Her pulmonary veins were incredibly small and were routed very strangely, nothing like theyve seen before and inoperable in their eyes. They only offered her The Hybrid Procedure to allow her time to see if she had the potential to grow with the anatomy she had. She grew 1lb and was on room air and they reassessed her when she reached 2 months old, where they offered her the original 3 open heart surgery plan for HLHS. Since then she has battled and conquered both Norwood and Glenn procedures and is a thriving baby girl ready for life beyond these hospital walls and The Ronald Mcdonald House who we are so thankful for during our time here. Unfortunately being a single mom who can't work due to being her sole caretaker has left me without a place to take my kids. I've depleted what savings I had and my job withheld my 80 hours of PTO that I was going to use as a deposit and first month's rent because I couldn't come back to Oklahoma to work a 2 weeks notice to completion, no exceptions. I was heartbroken and thought we were going to have to go to a shelter for Christmas, but that's not even an option as Gabbi's Healthcare team said discharging her to a shelter would not be possible. We need a physical residential address to go to. I have been working with social work at the hospital along with resources in my state but have been held up by Social Security getting her social security card to us. Im on many waitlists but nothing has come available and time is running out. I dont have very many people in a position to help that arent doing everything they can already. My original plan fell through last minute when my best friends landlord finally got back with her and said we could not stay with her, and my sister is going through a health crisis of her own, she just had surgery on Oct 30th to remove potentially precancerous squamous cells and to do more biopsies, which are still pending. I have been taking my son with me while my daughter was still inpatient to do instacart to get necessities and pay my phone, car, and insurance, but with Gabbi out of the hospital it's not in her best interest to be in a carseat for extended periods of time and being out in the public during flu and cold season as an immunocompromised infant just doubles down on the fact I need to find another way to make money. So I am currently seeking some work from home options. I'm praying and begging God so hard for a place to call home so my babies and I can enjoy the holidays and recover from this incedibly rough year. What is supposed to be the happiest time, is plauged with worry and is becoming another nightmare on the horizon. My heart would not be able to handle Gabbi being put into foster care until I get on my feet, but that's the reality I am facing if we can't come up with the means to get us into a place so I can get us settled so i can figure the rest out. Please share our story and help my family have a home for Christmas. I'm doing everything i can and trusting God will provide and prevail Donations can also be sent to:
