Hi,
My name is Sarah and the flood that happened on January 22nd in Southeast San Diego effected our home. My auntie, fiancee, baby, and I were living here but we are temporarily living with our parents to keep baby safe. Our living room, bathroom, garage, kitchen, fence, and backyard deck got destroyed by the flood.
Luckily, we have a place to stay while we fix the house. For the past weeks, we've tossed out everything that got wet from the flood. We also removed the flooring, tiles, kitchen cabinets, and drywall to prevent mold/moisture from spreading with the help from some family, friends, and Team Rubicon. We've also contacted our home insurance and unfortunately they have denied our claim.
Below are photos when the flood hit us that day and after pictures of what we've done so far to repair the house.
After:
The garage was used as a storage room. We've removed all the damaged items and removed all the carpets underneath. Most of our living room, backyard items, and kitchen items were moved to the garage or living room to do demolition work in the kitchen.
Our refrigerator, kitchen cabinets, and stove were damaged so we had to get rid of it.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and helping in any way from donations, sharing our story, etc. Anything helps!
All the funds will go towards rebuilding our home and replacing items that were lost.
