Family in Need After Devastating Car Accident; Life Taken

TOGETHER IN THIS TRAGIC TRAGEDY

Dear friends, family, and compassionate community members,

I am reaching out with a broken heart to ask for support on behalf of my husband and our family. If you haven't heard, my father-in-law died in a terrible and tragic car accident on Caitlyn Avenue in Hemet, California, last week. My mother-in-law was also struck immensely due to the high impact of the crash; my husband lost his father on that day, Wednesday, May 21st. This terrible tragedy left my mother-in-law critically ill. A white pickup truck and my father-in-law's blue Sentra were the vehicles involved in this terrible collision. Witnesses of the accident describe that my father-in-law was stopped to turn left into the street for the road to their house when a white pickup truck collided into the back of my father-in-law's car. According to the driver, he did not see my father-in-law's vehicle. Instead of ending their evening on a positive note, my father-in-law lost his life, and my mother-in-law's life was drastically altered in a matter of seconds. They had gone out together to buy groceries and had planned to arrive home together and have dinner, which now will never happen. My father-in-law passed away after suffering blunt force injuries. According to what is known, my mother-in-law has cuts, bruises, and swelling, and all six of her vertebrae are broken as well as all of her ribs. Her injuries have affected every part of her body, even making movement painful. My mother-in-law is in excruciating pain due to this horrible car accident. My mother-in-law, her daughters, and our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the rescue teams, police, and civilians who helped get my mother-in-law medical treatment, and she will be needing ongoing medical treatment. This is where it becomes personal. Like many others,

our family is living paycheck to paycheck and we find ourselves unable to afford the funeral costs along with all the expenses that are needed to be able to send my father-in-law to rest in peace in El Salvador; that was his final wish. My father-in-law was loved and cared for by many, and it is in respect to him that he be also viewed one last time in Hemet, California. Our greatest wish is that our community's kindness will enable them to help our family during this dark, tragic time.
