Family In Need after Violent Attack
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kelly and I was devastated to my core when I was informed of what had happened to my co-worker and the condition he was in. I knew that I had to do something to help a friend and his family in their time of need. My main purpose of creating this “Go Fund Me” page was to do whatever I could in order to ensure that Austin can remain focused on his school work and his father.
On Saturday October 13, 2018 my co-worker, Jess, was violently attacked inside a restroom by two brothers that have extensive criminal records, unfortunately Jess was in the wrong place at the wrong time and sadly if it wouldn't have been Jess that night, it would have been someone else.
Thankfully the brothers were arrested and haven't been able to, and hopefully will not be able make bond. They are where they deserve to be, sitting in the county jail, because they decided to beat and rob an innocent person and chose to leave him in a puddle of his own blood to die!
And for what I am still not able to fathom, if the goal was to rob my friend they went above and beyond with excessive force. Jess had to be life-flighted to the hospital where he remained in the ICU, until yesterday. He still has not gained conscience since the attack, but Jess is a fighter so we are hopeful, that he will be waking up soon!
Let me tell you a little bit about my friend Jess, and his life before the attack. He is the proud father two sons, one of which made him a Grandpa for the first time this summer!
His other son, Austin is 18, a senior in high school, and is studying welding. Jess enjoys playing golf with Austin and watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He prided himself on raising his sons, and providing a great life for them. Jess got up every day, extremely early to deliver newspapers before heading to his job at Magee Plastics Company where he has worked since 2014.
While Jess's older son is out of the home with a family of his own to provide for, the responsibility to keep everything in order has fallen on Austin's shoulders. Although Austin is also employed, he has expressed concern that his income will not cover the monthly bills while his father is in the hospital, or how long he will be able to sustain the household while his father recovers.
I offered to create this campaign and Austin was so grateful! While working with Austin, together we have estimated the monthly bills to be around $2000/ month which includes: Rent, Multiple Utilities, Car Payments and Insurance, Transportation, Household Essentials, and Food. Our goal is to get at least 3 months covered for now. Due to the circumstances this family has been flung into, time is of the essence, as bills continue to come.
With your help I know that we will be able to make this happen! There is no donation too large or too small and I know that your donation will mean the world to this family as they move forward, staying positive about the future, and learn to cope with the events and where their lives are at now. I appreciate your time and any donation you are able to make, and I will continue to update this campaign regularly as we go forward. I ask that you please share this link on behalf of Jess and Austin.
