Hi, my name is Nour and I’m fundraising on the behalf of a family in northern Gaza that has been suffering since the beginning of the war in 2023. The family consists of four adults and several children. Since the beginning of the war they’ve suffered loss of members of their family including children, some members lost their limbs and had to be transported out of Gaza for treatment, they’ve lost their family home in the bombing and have been moving from one rented apartment to another while sleeping on the streets in between. Since the last ceasefire, the bombardment of their neighborhood has been intense, they woke up in the middle of the night to bombs falling around them and their neighbors massacred. So they’ve had to leave their camp again and were once again cramped in a tent on the street. They have tried to rent an apartment that was available but we were not able to provide them with enough funds to get it and are still living on the street right now. In addition, due to the ruthless siege on Gaza and the inability to bring in much humanitarian aid, food prices are incredibly high, with a can of beans costing around 8 USD. As a result, the members of the family, particularly the children and the elderly, are suffering from symptoms of starvation, while the adults suffer from that and from the weight of having to somehow provide food for the vulnerable members of their family. The only source of income they have is fundraisers like this. Food is in extreme short supply which makes it even more expensive. If you have some money you can eat, otherwise many are dying in starvation. We’ve been trying to help this family barely survive for around a year now, but since funds have started to slow down and the situation is getting worse, they asked us to start a new fundraiser in the hopes of raising more funds. I cannot relate to you the level of suffering these people are going through, but I can assure you that whenever we are able to send in a good sum, the temporary relief it provides them is great.
