UPDATE: Earlier this month, Vinicio had a master calendar hearing where the judge scheduled a time to listen to arguments from the lawyer regarding granting Vinicio some kind of status that would allow him to remain in the US. Unfortunately he was not offered the opportunity for any kind of bond. The date for his next hearing was set all the way in December which means that by the time a judge finally hears arguments for Vinicio’s case, he will have been detained for nearly 6 months away from his family.

We are also rapidly approaching Silvia’s due date. We are hoping to throw her a baby shower in the coming final weeks of her pregnancy.

I am opening this fundraiser back up in hopes you are all able to either generously dip back into your pockets or share this page to your networks.

We would love to be able to give Silvia some additional funds at her baby shower to provide her with some security as she recuperates from giving birth and she and her 3 other kids bond with their new little family member.

We still don’t know what will happen with Vinicio but we know that by December Silvia and the kids will have been without their father/husband/primary economic support system for 6 months. Anything given will again be put toward things like food, rent, childcare help and new baby costs.

Sylvia and Vinicio are the parents of three children with a fourth on the way. On July 1, Vinicio was abducted by ICE in the early morning and has been detained at Plymouth Correctional Facility ever since. His initial hearing is coming up this Thursday, 8/28 and we are raising money to hire a lawyer to help him get released from detention.

With Vinicio being held by ICE, Sylvia is parenting all of their children alone while entering her seventh month of pregnancy. Vinicio is also the primary breadwinner for the family and handled childcare on the weekend so that Sylvia could work part time. Without him the family is having a tough time and any extra money raised above covering Vinicio’s legal fees will go towards their rent, food, and basic necessities.
