Georgia - Family House Fire

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am reaching out on behalf of a very special member of our community, Georgia, who along with her family, has experienced a heart-wrenching tragedy.

In the early evening of March 30, 2024, a devastating fire engulfed their family home, leaving them without a place to live and turning their cherished possessions into memories.

Georgia has been a beacon of light and strength in our nursing community, ready to lend a helping hand and bring a smile to those in need.

Today, Georgia and her family find themselves in a situation no one ever imagines facing – homeless and having lost everything that made their house a home.

Thankfully, all human family members are safe, yet they mourn the loss of a beloved member, their dog Cleo. Cleo was not just Shamane's loyal companion and best friend but also a mother to nine puppies, including Estie, who was fortunately not in the house at the time, and her siblings Apollo, Max and Bella, who were. From the moment Cleo gave birth, with Shamane's support every step of the way, their bond deepened. Faced with the emergency, Shamane, embodying courage, raced to the scene. He navigated the neighbours yard, vaulted over the fence, and entered the burning home through a side door, managing to rescue the puppies. This act of valor, though leaving him with just a minor injury, has marked a profoundly traumatic yet heroic moment in his life. While the loss of Cleo weighs heavily on the family's hearts, they are finding comfort in believing that Cleo passed away calmly in her sleep due to the smoke. The family is consoled by the thought that she is looking down, immensely proud of Shamane for ensuring the safety of her puppies.

In these trying times, the value of community support cannot be overstated. As fellow nurses, we understand the importance of standing together and helping one another through the toughest moments.

This is a call to all who can lend a hand, offer support, and help Georgia and her family rebuild their lives.

What We Need:
Our initial goal is to raise $10,000 which will go directly to Georgia and her family for living expenses during this challenging time.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in their journey to recovery.

How You Can Help:

Donate: Every contribution brings Georgia and her family one step closer to rebuilding their lives.

Share: Spread the word within your networks. The more people who hear about this campaign, the more support we can gather for them.

Send Love and Encouragement: If you cannot contribute financially, your words of support and encouragement are just as valuable.

Please leave a message for Georgia and her family; let them know we are all here for them.

In our profession, we witness daily how resilience, care, and community can bring light even in the darkest times. Let's come together to support one of our own during this incredibly difficult period.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, support, and kindness.

With heartfelt gratitude, Terresa
