Hello everyone. My name is Ally Smith and I was born and raised in Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica and it left a trail of destruction across several parishes. Among those affected were my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, whose home was severely damaged when the roof caved in under the heavy wind and rain. Although the concrete walls remain standing, everything inside—furniture, clothing, appliances, and personal belongings—was soaked and ruined. What was once a warm family home is now exposed to the elements. Like many others on the island, they are trying to clean, dry, and salvage what little they can while facing the overwhelming cost of rebuilding. This fundraiser aims to help them replace the roof, repair the interior, and restore a safe, livable space so they can begin again with hope and dignity.
