Family Home lost to Devastating Fire

Hi, My name is Melanie, and I am reaching out to our beautiful community in hopes of lifting up our dear friends and neighbors in a most desperate hour of need.

Before sunrise Tuesday, January 16th, the Willis Family awoke to a smoke alarm. Quickly, the house was engulfed in flames, and they were lucky to escape with their lives,. .and whatever they where wearing(PJ's).

By 6am, they found themselves homeless and in an unfathomable situation. All their belongings, clothes, furniture, shoes, backpacks, school uniforms, everything. Gone. Ash.

The kids have lost all their clothes, their toys, their beds, their memories.

The Family is hopeful to find a place to stay in the Lake Sarasota Community which we all love, and praying the journey with Insurance Coverage and Rebuild goes smoothly.

At this time, on behalf of the Willis', we are asking for donation of clothes, toiletries, toys, for the family. I will be providing a list of detailed need, sizes/sex for clothes, food, etc very soon.

I want to make sure to thank the Sarasota County Fire Dept for their valiant efforts. And for their protection for the neighbors. Red-Cross who came out to the site quickly. And especially to all the neighbors and friends who have stopped by with food, clothes and just a shoulder to cry on. This is just the beginning of a significant journey, but between the heart of this community and the resiliency of the Willis', I believe they will be able to rebuild the home of their dreams, in our beautiful Lake Sarasota;)

All Donations will go directly to the Willis' Family to support them while displaced by the housefire that took everything from them.
