My name is Bukola, and I am a single mother to three wonderful boys.

In the early hours of Monday, October 19, 2026, at around 2:00 AM, our lives changed forever. My eldest son heard the smoke alarm go off and immediately got up to investigate. He discovered thick smoke pouring from our tumble dryer and a small fire spinning inside the fan. Realizing the immediate danger, he didn't hesitate, he rushed to wake up the rest of the family to get us all

outside.

Within just a minute or two of the smoke being discovered, the laundry room was fully engulfed in flames, and the fire quickly spread to the rest of the house. In roughly 30 minutes, our family home and everything we had worked so hard for over the years was completely destroyed right before our eyes.

While we are endlessly grateful and blessed that my boys and I made it out safely, we have lost everything. We are now left trying to rebuild our lives from the ground up.
