Family Hit Hard by Multiple Cancers
Hi Friends,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law, @Ginny Bailey and @Johnny Bailey, in the hopes that our community might be able to offer some support during an incredibly difficult time.
Johnny has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare and aggressive blood cancer that attacks the bones, making them fragile and prone to breaking. He has already suffered multiple fractures and is no longer able to work due to the pain and physical limitations caused by the disease.
As a result of mounting medical expenses and the loss of income, Ginny and Johnny have lost their home and are now living in an RV. Despite having health insurance, they are responsible for 20% of all medical costs. Johnny undergoes weekly chemotherapy and now urgently needs a bone marrow transplant, which can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $500,000—with out-of-pocket expenses estimated between $20,000 and $100,000 even with insurance.
Ginny is doing everything she can to care for Johnny while continuing to work, but she’s had to miss many days to drive him to chemotherapy and doctor appointments. The transplant process will require even more time away from work, making their financial situation even more precarious.
They know times are hard for many people, and asking for help is not easy. But if you're able to contribute—no matter how small—it would mean the world to them. Every little bit brings them closer to the care Johnny needs and some relief during this overwhelming time.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting if you can. ❤️
