Tax deductible
Home For Refugees seeks to provide a warm welcome to newly arrived refugees through the United States Refugee Resettlement Program through teams of community volunteers. Refugees have been forced from their home country due to threat of violence.
Home Teams come alongside refugees during the first year of what is often a difficult transition by helping them set up their new home, access public benefits, find doctors, enroll children in school, facilitate job searches, and perform other necessary tasks on the road towards self-sufficiency. Home Teams not only come alongside refugees on a practical level, but also provide a safe space for friendship and community.
Through its Community Sponsorship Program, HFR has facilitated the resettlement of many refugee families and individuals across the U.S., and with your help, can welcome more. It takes a network of people working together to provide refugees a good start.
For our Home Team, we are setting up a Relief Fund for the team for any emergencies that may come up for the family during our partnership with them for the year. I hope you will consider joining this meaningful project by donating $500, $250, $100 or an amount that fits your budget, to our team’s Relief Fund. This gift will go a long way in helping us give our new neighbors the new start they so desperately need.
