Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Lyndon, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support during a very difficult time for our family.
This past April, my wife Maria lost her beloved brother in the Philippines. Despite financial struggles, she made the trip back home to say goodbye and be with her family during that heartbreaking time. It was a deeply emotional and costly journey, but one we knew she needed to make.
Now, just weeks later, we are facing another devastating situation. Maria’s elderly mother has suddenly fallen seriously ill. She’s been hospitalized with severe health issues, including bone degeneration that has left her unable to walk. We believe this may have been triggered or worsened by the emotional toll of losing her only son.
Maria's mother is in urgent need of care, medication, and possibly long-term assistance. Sadly, healthcare and social services in the Philippines are limited, and the burden of care has fallen on distant relatives who are doing their best—but it’s not enough.
We had planned for Maria to visit her family in December, and we had purchased a flight in advance. Unfortunately, due to her brother’s passing, we had to cancel that trip. Despite providing documentation, the airline refused to refund or credit the cost, leaving us with a financial loss we couldn't afford.
Now, with her mother’s health rapidly declining, Maria needs to go back to the Philippines again—this time with more urgency and purpose. But we simply don’t have the funds after the emotional and financial strain of the past few months.
That’s why we are humbly asking for your help.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward:
The cost of a return flight to the Philippines
Medical support and essentials for Maria’s mother
Transportation, living expenses and loss of work while Maria is there.
A small cushion to help us stay afloat while we continue working and supporting from Canada
This is not easy for us to ask, but we believe in the kindness of others—and we are holding onto hope that we can make this trip possible, so Maria can be there for her mother when she needs her most.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Please consider sharing this campaign with others. Even spreading the word can make a world of difference.
Thank you so much for reading our story and for any support you can offer.
With gratitude,
Lyndon & Maria
