Family Emergency Expenses Fund

My mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer. This morning I got a call from a friend that she had to be airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans, and may already be on her deathbed.

A friend has provided me an emergency airplane ticket to Louisiana tomorrow morning, and another friend is providing a place for me to stay while I'm there. Unfortunately though, Louisiana doesn't take food stamps from other states, so I am concerned about having enough money for groceries.

It's morbid, but once I get to Louisiana and see what state my mother's in firsthand, I may be raising the fundraising goal to pay for funeral arrangements.  I will try to keep the campaign updated as her situation progresses, though more frequent updates will probably be on Facebook only.
