Family Drama Short Film: What Remains

I'm creating a family drama inspired by my own experience with losing a parent to addiction. The story unfolds in a hospital room, where a parent struggling with alcoholism believes they about to be discharged as usual. A heated argument erupts between the mother and daughter, leading the daughter to storm off—choosing not to be there for her mom’s inability to change. Days later, the daughter receives a call from the hospital: her mother is now on life support, forcing her daughter to confront the parts of their relationship she’s been hanging on too.

This film is about the things we leave unsaid, the importance of putting aside pride and differences, and focusing on what truly matters before it’s too late. It’s a vulnerable story for me, as someone who’s lost a parent to addiction, and I hope it resonates with others who have faced similar struggles.

All the funds raised will go directly toward building an authentic hospital room set for the film. Creating this world is essential to telling the story with honesty and impact, and every contribution will help bring this vision to life. Thank you so much for considering supporting my film. I don’t take your generosity lightly and appreciate any way you can help. With your support, I hope to bring this story to film festivals and share its message with a wider audience.
