Family Dog in ICU, Pet Duck Killed, Please Help!

I have set up this fund raiser for clients of mine. They are not only clients, but friends. They chose me to help them sell their home and it has been a fairly difficult time for them. I have helped them through the process every step of the way and they were excited to see we were getting showings.

We had home showings all week and today (Sunday March 27th) was to be the final day. Then I recieved a message from them that made me cry. On Saturday March 26th, we had scheduled showings on their home all day. As a real estate agent, it is our duty when showing a home to ensure all gates are secured, all doors shut, and everything personal left untouched. This is not how Saturday went for my clients.

When they arrived home they noticed their personal belongings had been moved about including jewelery. But this is not even the worst of it....

Their shop door was left open and it allowed their family duck to get out. The duck was KILLED by one of their dogs (this is why anyone who owns ducks and dogs keep them apart). The children are distraught, but this still isn't the worst of it...

Their back gate was also left open and unlatched. This allowed their dogs to get out. They were able to find them and get them home, but not before one of them ingested something that was extremely harmful. Their family dog began having seizures, and as of right now is still in the ICU receiving treatment.

This sweet family does not have much, and these medical bills are not only causing stress, but they are having to make difficult decisions due to the severity of the injury and cost!

As of right now the veterinary bills are up to nearly $3,000, and rising.

As an agent, I have a respect and hyperfocus on securing homes when showing them. I realize we cannot control all of our buyers' actions, but the challenges my sellers/clients are facing right now are in direct correlation to the agents that showed the home that day. Of course we do not know who it was, or if it was multiple, but here is what I am asking...

As agents, and as decent people, I'm praying you will help this family, if even just a little bit. This could have been any of our clients and I'm praying together we can help this family as the actions of having their home shown has caused tragedy.
