Family devastated from flooding by Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Friends & Family,
You all know the Jimmy Buffet song, “everybody’s got a cousin in Miami?” In the case of Hurricane Ian, everyone has a relative in Florida. I am no exception. My brother Dan McMahon and his family live in Edgewater, Florida. This is a small, quiet town just south of Daytona Beach. They have lived there for years, working and raising their kids. This has been their haven, their community.
The pictures of the destruction caused by Ian look like a war zone. Heartbreaking, to say the least. Testaments of memories and years of hard work have been ripped from homes and are now floating in what were once streets. Many of you have known Dan for years, so you know he is the most loyal of people. Dan and his family are always willing to help out a friend in need. Now he and his family need YOUR help. Their home, like so many other Florida residents, has been made inhabitable by several feet of water damage. Very little appears to be salvageable. It will take time for them to work through the process of recovery and rebuild. The immediate ask is for help in bridging this catastrophe to a day-by-day existence. This could mean in the form of providing for long-term shelter, transportation and other immediate needs. We thank you for your love and support. The McMahons
