Family devastated by loss of beloved son in fire

I'm Mike Pape. On Monday 2/6/2023, our home at 521 Rulison in Lansing was totally destroyed by fire at 8:30 that morning. The fire itself was so horrific as the flames came from nowhere and so very suddenly. The true devastation was the loss of my beautiful teenage son who was asleep upstairs. I rushed thru the flames and up the stairs in an attempt to save him. oh God, it was so difficult as the flames ravished my body, to discover he had already perished.

GOD GOD GOD, How do these things happen?

I am now in Grand Rapids hospital burn center as I recover.

If there is anyone out in this world that could help my fiancee and myself as we struggle to get our lives back. Yes, we have lost not only my beloved son but all of our belongings plus our home. We are at a loss, with no home, no son, no clothing and our furniture destroyed.

If anyone could help us financially it would be a godsend, $5-$10, anything would be a blessing.

Today my fiancee picked me up from the burn center in grand Rapids.

Where do I go from here?

I have no money to bury my lost son. I am unable to work until my burned body heals.
