I'm not a big fan of asking for help, but I need to do so for a family in need. Any advice or direction is appreciated.
I have an employee who's family member committed suicide just over a month ago, right as we were shutting down the restaurants.
SWAT was forced to enter the home forcefully in order to determine what happened to the family member, only to find they had taken their own life.
In addition to the damage to the home that has been left behind, 4 children have been displaced, 2 are with their father and 2 others are with extended family with whom the relationship is strained.
I do not know exactly how much everything is going to cost, but I'm certain that it is going to be more than the goal amount. Here is what the money will be used for:
1. Find someone to help organize making repairs to the home so that it is livable again. In the last 5 weeks, the home has been looted twice. The children cannot come home until it is in good working order.
2. I do not know, nor can I truly publicly disclose, all of the circumstances surrounding the children who are left without their parent. What I do know is that there is likely some legal assistance that will be needed to help navigate all of this.
3. Finally, this person has been unemployed for the last 6 weeks as well. This is something that I can and am doing something about, but obviously the financial toll of all of this trauma is going to be dramatic. This isn't a glorious financial time for anyone for sure, but anything helps.
4. Most important! Can you please offer prayers for this family? Strength, guidance, wisdom, perseverance, patience, and comfort are all needed and then some!
