My name is Cody. My story and original message is below. My family needs 2779.50 by Monday morning to pay our rent, 2279.50 keeps it from an eviction by state law. We have a solution to keep from thus situation, we just have to make it past rent to get there. Literally 3 weeks behind of saving our whole life. Please share or help. Other avenues for assistance are avaliable and highly appreciated per the time constraints.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclorosis in March. I was told I've been suffering for much longer and ignored the signs and took it as just another pain. I now no longer have feeling in my hands, my balance is severely compromised, upper body strength is compromised and my right leg can have issues, along with back issues, bowel issues, and other come and go problems. I am listing this not as a pitty me, but to be clear in why I haven't been able to work. My last job kept me on for a while, but I could feel the animosity and resentment there and i could no longer work like i needed to. The company was making too many accommodations to be reasonable. I also needed to move to be closer to better health care access, better climate, better education for our children and better employment opportunities for my wife. So we found a moving company, sold most of our big belongings, cashed all my wife's retirement funds, and packed up. Our move cost more in fuel that we could have imagined, and the moving company hit us for an additional 7000 dollars after we were already loaded on the truck and to close to move out date to readjust. We were stuck as if the moving company knew what they were doing, predatory tactic style. So when we arrived at our new home, we didn't have any money, and my wife's paycheck was messed up and delayed and caused so many steming issues that snowballed bigger and bigger. We had to fund raise money to help cover part of two months rent, while ignoring car payments and cutting everything from our budget. We now have food stamps, 245 dollars a month for a family of five, I am fighting through the disability process, and my wife is currently in the interview process for two different job opportunities. Yet we have had to ignore our car payments for 3 months on two cars so we are 5,000 behind and we also know for a fact we will only have 600 for rent of the 2,570 due. On the 5th it's late and charges an additional 10% and on the 11th the property management company files for eviction. We've tried to work with the company and to no avail. I know everyone is feeling pain and pinch, I'm not trying to take any advantage of anyone, I just want to keep my family safe and stable without losing cars or our home and definitely not both. I was hoping we were only going to need one month help, but when my symptoms got worse and couldn't work and disability fighting me, and my wife's interview process taking so long, it is putting us in risk again of literally losing everything. My kids are finally doing amazing in school, my wife is trying to get into jobs she is very passionate about, I just started to get into a service animal program to help with my disability and I can't afford to jeopardize any of that either. I do feel a huge amount of guilt for my family having to suffer the consequences of me not being able to work, and I feel embarrassed and shamed to need to ask for help from anyone. I am sorry. But please, please help us get back on track and keep afloat this month so my disability can be pushed and my wife get her job. Please help keep my family be safe, stable and allow us the opportunity to thrive next month. Like I said, I know everyone is feeling some pain from the government not helping we the people, taxes strangling us all, and the economy being held hostage by greed, but I want to keep my family safe while trying to spread more light on the struggle good, decent families all across our nation are facing, and how one or two bad circumstances can in these days threaten a whole families future. Please spread this, share to those who can afford to help please. Thank you for your time reading this, considering my family, and families like us all across our nation right now.
