Hello all,

As many of you know by now, my brother Elijah Boyd was the victim of an unprovoked act of gun violence. My family is devastated as we try to navigate this sudden, tragic loss.

At this time, I am creating this platform for my mother. Her house was damaged when this incident occurred. It is deemed a crime scene and she cannot return at this time. Funds collected will go towards damage repair and future relocation, as well as any additional final expenses for my brother's services.

Thank you all for your prayers, and your words and acts of love and kindness as we grieve this unimaginable loss.

"The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that occurred overnight on Saturday. It says officers responded to the 500 block of Catalpa on a report of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. They found a 24-year-old man with injuries, and he was Spectrum Health Lakeland hospital in St. Joseph. The victim died at the hospital. He has been identified as 24-year-old Elijah Boyd. Police say they have no suspects or motive at this time. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety."
