My name is Lionelle Van Staden, and I’m a proud dad who’s always done everything I can to provide for my family. But life has thrown some tough challenges my way, and I’m reaching out for help to keep us from losing everything we’ve worked so hard for.

In 2023, I lost my job after undergoing multiple back surgeries that left me unable to work for an extended period. What started as chronic pain turned into a battle to regain my health, and while I’m fighting to get back on my feet, the financial strain has been overwhelming. Medical bills piled up, and despite my best efforts, I’ve fallen behind on rent, utilities, and other essential payments. To keep my family fed and a roof over our heads, I made the heartbreaking decision to sell my car—the one thing that gave me a sense of independence and the ability to provide for my family. That allowed me to make some payments, but we still need a lot of help.

As a dad, my family is my world. Every day, I wake up determined to give my son a safe, stable home and the love he deserves. He’s turning 5 years old in September. But right now, we’re at risk of losing everything—our home, our security, and the future I’ve been working so hard to build for them. That’s why I started this GoFundMe. I’m not one to ask for help easily, but I’m swallowing my pride for my family’s sake. Your support would mean the world to us, helping cover overdue bills, keep a roof over our heads, and give me the chance to focus on recovery.
