Family and funeral expenses for Sean Salisbury

Donation protected
A local football coach will be laid to rest later this week. “Larger than life” WCONN coach had two passions in life: football and dogs

30-year-old Sean Salisbury, a defensive backs coach for the Western Connecticut State University football team, died as a result of a single-car crash that happened Sunday Feb, 6, 2022 on Mill Plain Road in Danbury.

Beloved son of Scott Edward and Lisa Ann Salisbury of Simsbury CT. Sean graduated Simsbury High School, Simsbury CT and played football and graduated from Castleton University of Vermont. Sean coached for Castleton, Plymouth State, Coventry RI High School, and was DB coach for Western Connecticut State University.

"Coach Salisbury loved his players and was loved by his players as much as I have ever seen. He is going to be so missed within our football team. We want to wish his family our deepest sympathy and hope they truly understand what a tremendous impact he had on us as coaches and our players," head football coach Joe Loth stated.

The Trinity Episcopal Church of Tariffville, also has lost a piece of its heart. Sean was a member of the church, education, Youth Group, music and Emmaus programs. Sean attended mission trips including traveling to New Orleans to assist with the clean-up from Hurricane Katrina. Many watched Sean grow up into the kind hearted loving man he became. He had a great love of dogs especially for his beloved Bently and Casey. Sean took a job caring for dogs when he was home. He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. He was extremely generous and was always willing to help others. He was a loyal friend and often had a wide grin and contagious laugh to brighten the lives of those around him.

Please offer your support to assist the family through this difficult time.
