Family and Friends of John Aponas

Donation protected
John Aponas, husband, father, son, brother, & friend of so many of us, was diagnosed with kidney disease 8 years ago. Despite diet changes and medication, his disease has led to kidney failure.  To give you an idea of the seriousness of his situation; his kidneys are only operating at 13%.

In the fall of 2017, John’s doctors told him he would need a kidney transplant in order to keep him off of dialysis and help him live a longer and higher quality life.  Good news … John got the news he was hoping for this year … he has a donor!!  Due to the generosity and altruism of this donor, John is on track to have his transplant soon.

As thrilled as he and his family are to have this new lease on life, it does not come without its challenges.  The recovery process will require a specialized diet, and significant life style adjustments.  John will need to travel to Boston 3 times a week for the next 2 – 6 months.   In addition, he will be out of work for 3 to 6 months.  There will be significant medical and travel expenses which will put an undue hardship on John’s family.

This Go Fund Me campaign will help John and his family during this very uncertain and difficult time.  Our goal is to raise $15,000.  This is one way you can help – give what you can and we are confident we can take the financial burden off of the Aponas family and let them focus on getting John well.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
