Tragically, at the end of November 2024, landslides devastated communities in Bulambuli District, eastern Uganda killing families, destroying homes and gardens and livelihoods.
One of the affected communities is just above our washing station and many of our partner farmers sadly lost relatives and land.
Survivors were first settled at the nearby Masugu Primary School in Buluganya sub-county, Bulambuli District, and the government later moved them to an IDP (internally displaced people) camp in Bunambutye, lower down the mountain.
Survivors are now in urgent need of basic essential goods, such as food, water, cooking oil, mattresses and mosquito nets.
Coffee from these destroyed gardens was previously brought to our washing station and ended up in the EU and UK. We are therefore asking our roaster community and friends to help us get essential supplies to our neighbours who are in urgent need. All funds raised will be used to buy essential supplies and delivered directly to the IDP camp by our team.
Any amount will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
