Hi, I'm Dena, a Palestinian Egyptian living in Neu-Ulm, Germany. Part of my family is still in Gaza, facing grave danger every day. I am reaching out with this appeal to help my cousin Dalia and her family escape from Gaza.

Currently, there is only one way out of Gaza: through Egypt. However, this route has become extremely expensive, with border fees of $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child. In Gaza, every moment is a struggle for survival, and the fact that they are still alive is nothing short of a miracle.

Dalia is a strong and resilient mother whose courage shines even in the darkest times. When the attacks on Gaza began, Dalia was seven months pregnant, and her home was destroyed by bombs. Together with her husband, Youssef, and their two-year-old daughter, Dalia was forced to flee. They found temporary refuge in makeshift shelters, but again and again, they had to move, constantly displaced by the relentless attacks.

During one of these many escapes, Dalia went into labor. With no medical help available and hospitals also under attack, she was forced to give birth in a public toilet inside the shelter. Despite the overwhelming fear and uncertainty, there was a brief moment of joy when they welcomed their newborn son, Abdelhay, into the world. However, this joy was quickly overshadowed by the harsh reality they continue to face.

Dalia and Youssef's lives were shattered by this war. They lost their beautiful home and all the dreams they had of a stable life with their children. Youssef, who once owned a large, successful furniture factory on Salah Al-Din Street in Deir Al-Balah with his father and brothers, also lost his livelihood. The factory, a significant source of income for their family, was completely destroyed, leaving nothing but rubble.
