After living in Chico CA for 8 years my husband of 6 years and I decided to move our family to paradise CA to a bigger house for our kids to have more room to grow and have fun. We have a 4 year old daughter named Allison and a 8 year old son named Jason. We also had our beloved dog named Benji. Our kids love the outdoors and being able to run and play with Benji. Bedises playing outside in the yard My daughter spent most of her day playing with her Barbie's and her dream doll house and my son spent his day playing videos games. My husband spent his day working 2 jobs in paradise and I was a stay at home mom. After living in paradise for 6 months we decided to take our family to a mini vacation . On November 8, 2018 we recieved the worst call from my brother who also lived with us. he told me that there was a fire in paradise and everyone was being evacuated. He left for work that morning and when he heard about the fire he headed to our home to see if he could get Benji out on time because he was inside the house but the roads were blocked and he wasn't allowed back in. We got back to Chico as soon as possible and started contacting shelters hoping that Benji somehow made it out but we couldn't find him. All we could do was wait until we knew if our home was standing or not. After a week of not knowing we found out that our house burned in the fire. We got some pictures and everything was in ashes. I was so heartbroken everything me and my husband worked so hard to have was gone just like that. We lost our home our beloved Benji our cars we didn't get the opportunity to save anything. Not only did we lose our things my husband also lost both of his his jobs.  Our life changed drastically in under 6 months. At this moment we are staying with a friend in a small bedroom trying to get back up on out feet. Everyday when I wake up I hope it was just a bad nightmare. It breaks my heart when my daughter tells me she wants to go home to benji and to play with her toys she doesn't understand the situation and she just cries. My son understands what happened but he cries every night because he misses his house and his dog. We are asking for help to get an apartment and to get everything we need to start over and build our new home for our kids.
