Famiglia Lucido Research Project

There has been an outpouring of interest to share in my costs to research our Lucido family history.  I have avoided this request as to not scare people away from our Lucido Family Facebook group, but some assistance would really help move our research along.  You have probably heard the story about our Admiral Lucido ancestor who sailed for the Navy of Aragon from the research of Professoressa Caterina Lucido of Trapani.  You have also probably seen my frequent posts about the three generations of notaries in Palermo from 1499-1584.  My hope is to connect these two stories and find out more about our notary ancestors.  This is tedious work to research the notary records at the Palermo State Archives in search of transactions by our Lucido ancestors (sale and purchase of property, marriage contracts, last will and testaments, etc) for any clues about their personal information.  There were hundreds of active notaries at the time and each register has to be searched page by page.  This requires the help of a researcher skilled in palaeography (able to read the medieval script) and fluent in Latin.  These qualified people are not cheap.  I hire people as I can afford it, but with a bit of help we might be able to wrap up the research quite quickly.  I've certainly spent tens of thousands of dollars to date on my Lucido research passion.   Your help is very much appreciated and by all means not required.
