The Toronto Flash Flood brought massive flooding and sewage to the home of a young family with two children under the age of 6. They were forced to evacuate their basement apartment, where massive water and sewage damage consumed their belongings and furniture within mere hours. The apartment has been deemed unliveable and will need to be entirely gutted and renovated over the course of the next few months. The family of 4 now find themselves without a home and without most of their possessions. Living off of one modest income and not having been able to afford contents insurance means that they will not be receiving any financial aid through insurance to help them get back on their feet. It is up to us, and our community to band together and help this family out of displacement. It is my hope that we can get them settled before their young daughter starts school in September. They have a long road to rebuilding ahead of them but i truly believe if we come together in their time of need, we can make a difference. I have set up this page as a way to donate funds for the rehabilitation of this young family unit. Please share their story and donate. No amount is too small and every dollar counts. For many, it was just a city rainstorm. For this family, it was a life altering event. Let's tip the scales back in their favour and give them a fighting chance.
With many thanks and much admiration,
