My name is Micaela Gordon, a Nurse Practitioner from Falmouth, Jamaica, now residing in the United States. I am representing a group of nurses from Trelawny, Jamaica, whose coworkers and their families were directly impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

In the wake of this devastating hurricane, the dedicated members of our healthcare community have continued to care for others, even while facing unimaginable personal losses. Many of these courageous public health professionals have lost homes, belongings, and stability, yet they continue to show up each day with unwavering compassion, courage, and resilience.

I, along with my colleagues, have had the privilege of working alongside these individuals for many years, and over time, they have become like family to us.

All funds raised through this appeal will be distributed directly to the families of Falmouth Health Department staff affected by Hurricane Melissa. Your donations will provide essential support—food, clothing, shelter, and other urgent needs—helping these families recover and rebuild their lives.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps these heroes restore their homes and lives and serves as a reminder that we stand with them, just as they stand for our community.
