Fallout: Breaking - A Fan Film by Zack Finfrock

Donation protected
Hello, internet. My name is Zack Finfrock. Between 2011 and 2013, I created, wrote, and starred in a fan film and web-series called Fallout Nuka Break. At the time, I thought the story was complete and I was done.

Now, mostly in part because of the continued support of the greater online Fallout community--and a little because of a certain new TV show coming out--I’m back to it.

I am proud to introduce you to my next Fallout fan film, Fallout: Breaking.

This short film will be a stand alone story. A look at where my character, Twig, is now 10 or so years after we last saw him. A lot can happen in the wasteland of Fallout, so getting to tell a new tale with an aged and more weathered Twig is the goal.

Updating Twig in a new fan film means updated props and costumes as well. We did as best as we could back in Nuka Break to be as game-accurate as possible. A decade and a half, a new video game generation, plus two more Fallout game releases later, and the current Fallout prop and cosplay community has created some of the most detailed items I have ever seen.

Even as recently as November 2022, Brian Curtin of Infectious Designer released what I consider the most visually stunning live action piece made by fans. All of these incredible props you see that Brian featured in his incredible short? Well, he has already agreed to send a bunch of them to me to help support this new Fallout short I’m creating. So even before launching this crowdfund, we’ve already got a head start.

But why stop there? Bill Doran of PunishedProps.com is also including a very wild array of props and weapons that are ripped directly from the games!

In order to use these props correctly, along with creating a new game-accurate costume for Twig and making sure normal filmmaking expenses can be paid, that's where GoFundMe comes in.

Since this is not a webseries, but a single short film, I’m only asking for a budget to cover that. At the moment, keeping it an indie production with a low impact means we can get away with a budget of between $5000 to $7500. That ensures that we can keep the quality and tone of the original short film, and it keeps a roof over my head while I work on the majority of the production up until the release goal of early April of this year. Of course to make that goal, we need to start pre-production immediately.

If all goes well and we knock this out of the park, then this is only the beginning. We have a lot of ideas planned and hopefully with your help, we will be able to share them. I can’t wait to get started on this next chapter for Twig and to bring you all along for the journey.

Update: Donation Perks have been removed from this website to follow the GoFundMe Terms of Service. More info here. Please do still consider donating. I'm sorry for misleading you, that was NEVER my intention.
