Falling in Slow Motion is a five-part dramedy series that follows the lives of five people as they navigate the impending loss of their friend, Nate, a young womanizer who changes his ways after falling in love with the chronically ill Joni.

My name is Sarah Dinsey, I am an emerging writer/director dedicated to crafting unique and personal films with a focus on authentic storytelling. My passion lies in capturing the essence of the human spirit and our resilience in the face of adversity. Falling in Slow Motion is a five-part series inspired by my experiences with chronic illness, anxiety, and grief. Following Nate and Joni’s love story, and how their happily ever after is turned upside down when a tragic accident leaves Nate in a coma. Set mainly in a hospital, the series depicts Nate’s loved ones at his bedside, sharing memories through non-linear flashbacks. For those seeking romance, humor, and a roller coaster of emotions, our binge-worthy series has you covered.

Our goal is to create something authentic, heartfelt, and fun. We aim to be part of shows that have a voice, invite conversations into living rooms, and make people feel good. By sharing my experiences with chronic illness, anxiety, and grief, I hope to give a voice to others like me, helping them feel seen and less alone. We proudly feature a diverse cast and crew, representing various sizes, ages, sexual orientations, and ethnicities, including multiple principal cast members with a range of chronic illnesses. Diversity, inclusion, and authenticity are central to our storytelling. We believe everyone deserves representation on screen and strive to offer a broad audience a chance to connect with our characters and their journeys.

Our project is proudly supported by the Australian Cultural Fund; however, we didn't quite meet our funding goal and due to the rising cost of food, petrol etc., we need your help to reach our target. Donations will cover essential expenses for our pitch pilot, including cast and crew compensation, location fees, permits, set design, props, wardrobe, music rights, marketing, and catering. Once completed, our pilot episode will be submitted to film festivals nationally and internationally. Along with our comprehensive series bible, the pilot will also be presented to potential buyers for streaming platforms and broadcast networks.
