Family and friends,
On the morning after Father’s Day (6/22/20), Tom Fallgreen suffered an extremely traumatic brain injury. His wife Judy of 50+ years, gave him CPR until paramedics arrived, ultimately saving his life. From there he was life flighted to Portland Emmanuel Legacy Hospital where he was rushed into surgery. Unfortunately, because of the current pandemic no one was allowed at the hospital, so the family had to stay at the house in agony waiting to hear something, ANYTHING. After what seemed like an eternity, Tom’s daughter Tonya was able to speak with someone at the hospital. They informed her that he survived the surgery, and was fighting the ventilator to breathe on his own, but was not making the progress that they’d like response/reflex wise. He was eventually transferred to the ICU for 3 weeks where he had some good days, and what they call “uneventful” days.
Tom is now at the Vibra Specialty Hospital of Portland, where he is making progress. He is responding to certain commands, but sadly is still not awake. His surgeons have really high hopes for his recovery, they’re just not sure to what extent. Anyone who knows Tom can tell you how dedicated and hard working he is. Despite the many challenges he has ahead, we know he’s giving his all and fighting as hard as he can to come back to his wife Judy, children (Pete, Travis, & Tonya), grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Tom Fallgreen and his family are very humble and would never dream of asking for help, but as you can imagine his medical bills are going to be astronomically high. By creating this fundraiser, my hopes are to help take even just a tiny bit of stress off of his family. They should be focused on healing, not finances. Please help me in doing so by donating any way you can whether it be $1 or $100, a prayer, a wish, a fundraiser, etc. Anything you can do to help further his recovery process/eliminate stress would be extremely helpful and forever appreciated.
