Fallen 13 Service Members Bricks

Hi, I am Katrina mother to Lance Corporal Dylan Rothwell ( Ghost Company 2/1 ) who was involved in the bombing. I wanted to honor our Fallen 13 and place their names on bricks in our local Oakley Memorial Park.

Each of these heroes were working the Abby Gate next to my son Lance Corporal Dylan Rothwell and Corporal Osvaldo Ochoagonzalez both from here in Oakley, Ca.

Watching these two amazing Marine’s each day working through these struggles of loosing their best friends and platoon members has been beyond devastating. And doing these bricks for their Fallen Platoon members and friends they will forever have a place in their home town to visit them. These 13 Fallen saved so many lives and worked day in and day out without food and sleep. And when they did have water and food they were giving some to the Americans and the refugees and their children. Speaking with their Superior indicated that this group of men and women never once complained about being hungry, the heat, the lack of sleep or the conditions. That morning at Abby Gate they were supposed to be leaving almost 2 hours earlier before the bomb went off. These selfless hero’s requested to stay longer to continue helping and getting as many people through the gate as possible. They showed this Country what it truly means to be American heroes.

Once we raise the requested amount I will be filling out all the forms with the names of the Fallen and having Veterans of Oakley take on the next step. 

CITY OF OAKLEY has refused to help due too not having a KIA in our county. BUT WR HAVE TWO SURVIVORS THAT DO. So how a county could turn their backs on two Marines who are local is sad. Our Goal is to raise to show our two survivors it’s ok. We have their 6 all the way.
