Fall 2017 study abroad in Japan

My name is Nikki McGlosson. It's been my dream since I was a child to go to Japan, and I have the opportunity this fall of 2017 to do so. I've been accepted into Kansai Gaidai's Asian Studies Program via a transfer program from Miami University. I have worked my butt off and saved as much as I could for the last 4 years in order to fulfill my dream.
I'm really uncomfortable with doing something like a GoFundMe. The fact that I'm even making one kind of fills me with shame. I feel like I should be the only one to foot the bill for my selfishness. I want the time I spend abroad to possibly open new worlds for me. New friends, job opportunities, maybe even a new home one day. I intend to continue working hard and try my best during my studies and travels in life, but if I fail I don't want anyone else to have to deal with that.
Please don't feel like you need to give me anything, and if you do, don't give me more than you can spare. I will get to where I'm trying to go someday. I don't mind waiting, and I'll keep working to get there until I do.
