I am thrilled to share that I have been accepted to attend the Maderas Rainforest Conservancy’s summer veterinary mission trip in Costa Rica. This program is designed for pre-veterinary students like me who are eager to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine while making a difference in a developing country. Alongside local veterinarians and my classmates, I’ll be helping animals in need—offering services to horses, cattle, dogs, cats, and more. The course will cover essential clinical skills, including diagnostics, treatments, parasitological surveys, blood work, and physical exams. We’ll finish our time with a spay and neuter clinic, working as a team to provide much-needed care to the community’s animals.

This mission trip is a dream come true for me. Over the past few years, it’s been challenging to gain animal experience, but this opportunity will help me hit the ground running. Not only will I develop my veterinary skills, but I’ll also broaden my cultural exposure and learn from professionals in a new environment. I am excited to help another country while fulfilling a role I’ve always envisioned for myself.

To make this journey possible, I need to raise funds to cover registration fees, program costs, meals, lodging, transportation, and travel expenses.
