Hello, my name is Claire Mahaffey. I am the sister of Faith, and if you know her then you probably love her... Faith’s easy to love, and is a true light in our life.

Faith lives in Lahaina, Maui where a recent brush fire and high winds tragically burned the town and the harbor down, leaving people devastated. Faith and her friends had to evacuate with practically nothing but the clothes on their backs.

I made this fundraiser to help get Faith a vehicle since hers was taken in the fire. She knows that is was burned entirely. She is safe now but obviously hasn’t been able to get back to check on her home/other things. When she told me she needed a car, the first thing she mentioned was wanting to be able to help around town. And that is just so Faith…. caring, and helpful. She loves this place that she has called home the last several years, and it’s clear to see.

She also of course had many meaningful things in her car, like her custom made surfboard, her skateboard, her camping supplies, and so much more. My goal is honestly to exceed what she needs so that she can purchase a car, replace some of those meaningful items she lost, and then pour the rest into whatever she deems fit. I know she has friends that have lost everything, plus a community that she adores that is now in ruins. Overall , anything can help.

UPDATE: Faith has been back to her home finally, and everything is well there thankfully.

It is not the ideal place to stay at the moment with no electricity, or water, so she has found temporary housing for the time being. She is HEARTBROKEN over the tragedies and all that was lost during this disastrous fire. Her heart aches for all the people that have been lost, all that are missing, and she is ultimately just very thankful to be alive.

The Lahaina fire is the deadliest U.S. wildfire since 1918, and SO many people are still missing. Everyone keeps referring to the scenery of what was once a warm beautiful home town as “apocalyptic”.

Faith wants to help as much as she can, but only so much can be done at the moment. She’s planning to help her dearest friends and just do what she can to keep the Lahaina spirit strong ❤️

I am so thankful of how much we have raised for her, and in awe of all the outpouring concern and care. I hope that Faith is able to use these funds towards replacing some of what she lost.

Please continue to lift her up in prayer!! May God help heal her heart, guide her through this next chapter, and give her strength.
